  8. CFloppy works only under System 7 on color-capable Macintoshes.
  9.  
  10. CFloppy is a system extension for System 7.0 and later that rectifies
  11. a shortcoming in the wonderful Finder 7.0: floppy disk icons are
  12. displayed as the ugly old black and white icon while the rest of the
  13. desktop is bursting with color!
  14.  
  15. CFloppy causes the Finder to display beautiful full-color icons in
  16. place of the black and white floppy disk icons when you are in 16 color
  17. mode or greater.  Just drag CFloppy onto your System Folder icon and
  18. restart your Macintosh to activate it.

  30. If you don't like the icon I provided for CFloppy, you CAN change it
  31. with ResEdit, but there are some precautions.  The resources you
  32. will need to change are 'icl4' #256 (the 16 color floppy disk icon)
  33. and 'icl8' #256 (the 256 and greater color floppy disk icon).  Here
  34. are some things to keep in mind:
  35.  
  36. 1) Work only on a COPY of CFloppy in case you screw something up.
  37. 2) DO NOT modify the 'ICN#' #256 (b/w floppy disk icon) or the
  38.    floppy disk icon mask; this will cause CFloppy to no longer work.
  39. 3) DO NOT distribute modified versions of CFloppy.
  40. 4) Use only the Apple recommended colors in the 256 color icons so that
  41.    the icons will dim properly when they are clicked on.
  42. 5) Make sure the color disk icons you create fit exactly within the
  43.    icon mask or they will draw strangely.
  44. 6) Send me a copy of your work if you can!
